Where the aforementioned book was almost entirely wordless, however, Your Disease Spreads Quick relies ever so tentatively upon dialogue—loose scraps of lyrics cobbled together from the linear notes of (a) Senile Animal like pasted together pieces from a Burroughs word collage. Taken together, they fittingly read like statements of untethered existentialist dread—doomed proclamations in a horrific world populated by character sketches drawn from the abstractions of the Melvins’ correspondingly dark imagery.

Neely’s own images, however, succeed on their own, and while there’s no point in doubting the author’s insistence that he drew upon them directly as an inspiration for the work, Your Disease Spreads Quick would arguably have been just as successful had it maintained The Blot’s instance on letting the pictures speak for themselves. Neely is, as ever, an incredibly powerful visual storyteller. Over the course 22 pages, the mini takes the reader across a vast journey into the inner-most reaches of the artist’s sometimes frightening psyche, borrowing from sources a multitude of sources like Ralph Steadman, EC Seegar, and Fritz Lang...." - The Daily Cross Hatch

Each LP features audio on Side A at 45rpm, an etching on Side B and is housed in a heavy weight full color innersleeve inside a custom designed badass jacket. More pics here of the packaging. They are $49 each.

We've started to put some Melvins box sets up on ebay.  So, please, buy with confidence from those that made them...

Much love to ya'll who headed over to Secret Headquarters and picked up a Melvins Box Set that went on sale over the weekend. It was quite a success and, with the exception of some pain-in-the-asses, it went as smoothly as they could have hoped. They have informed us they are still processing orders placed over the phone. These should be all finalized by tomorrow night, with those orders shipping hopefully by Wednesday day.

Its seems one person picked one up just to turn and sell it, literally within hours of purchase...its a shame really, but considering that we have worked to curb this behaviour, its truly nice to only see this one person selling theirs. The person's post on ebay for the listing of the release is hysterical.....not only does he claim to not being doing it for profit (which he is making), but he is saying the item is sold out (which it isn't)...the best part, though, is the Q&A section where some one calls him out about flipping it, to which he justifies the sale by saying he saw the Melvins with White Zombie and wants Dodger's tickets. We emailed him from our new ebay store which we set up a few days ago...to which he responded suggesting it wasn't really us asking the question...too funny.

Anyway....if you are bidding on this thing, you shouldn't. We have box set stock here to sell via mailorder at the actual sale price...not at some dude's inflated auction rate. We are still waiting to finish assembling the stock for us and for the Melvins, so although we can't start selling the box sets we have set aside today, we are willing to start taking some order requests via email. Please understand, this is just a waiting list...we'll respond on a first come first serve basis when we are ready to do so over the next few days. Please include your name, and shipping address (No PO Boxes for US customers, we will only ship UPS insured) so we can determine shipping costs, etc. We'll then respond stating whether or not there is one reserved for you. When Tom went through signing and numbering the comics for the Melvins box set, he went and got all clever and did shit like this...which makes us just want to keep them all ourselves...instead we just took pics of each one and cataloged the images for safe keeping...we'll post more down the road. This Horse image here is in the batch that Secret Headquarters is sitting on right now...and no, we're not gonna tell you what number it is. Roughly 1 out of every 6 has a unique drawing in the comic...there are talking Juicy Juice boxes, black metal dudes yelling "Elton John!", knights and castles, and piles upon piles of other sketches including, as you can see above, some of the characters from "Your Disease Spread Quick".

Yes, Andrew is wearing a fucking Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles t-shirt....and yes, Sarah looks like a member of Hee-Haw (with good shoes, of course)....and yes, the Melvins 4xLP ltd Box Set is assembled, numbered, and sealed...but what you don't see here is that they've also been delivered to Secret Headquarters and go on sale tomorrow morning. Its a glorious day to be sure....this motherfucker has been well over a year in the making...and just might be the closest we've come to giving birth. The store opens at 11am, so head on over to Secret Headquarters bright and early to fight it out with the others for your very own copy. The boxes are selling for $90, are limited to 300, and are available while supplies last. They are out of our hands now...so blame these guys here if you be hatin'.

We just set it up yesterday so its sparse at the moment, but over the next few weeks we'll be beefing it up nicely. The Melvins 4xLP Box Set isn't listed there yet, so don't go yelling about being unable to find it...you'll see them start to show up over the next few days though, so stay tuned.

If you want the 4xLP but just straight up don't want to spend $90 on the box set version, then stay tuned to both the Hydra Head Shop through BCD and to the above linked ebay store over the next week as we start to roll out the regular 4xLP edition. We'll make another post when it goes up...and don't worry, we've got plenty of them for all ya'll. After what seems like a year...oh wait, it HAS been a year...we've finally picked up the silkscreen parts for the box set today. About fucking time, right?  Our interns just can't wait to get in here and start assembling them tomorrow.  The above pic is of the first of 300 to eventually be assembled, figured some ya'll non-haters might enjoy a peek at it.  Inside is the 4xLP on a color of vinyl exclusive to the box, along with a belt buckle, and a comic signed by the artist Tom Neely (some of the comics even have hand drawn images, which we thing was pretty neat of him to do).  Oh, right, each of 'em are hand numbered too.  After we get the final invoices settled for all the parts that go into this thing, we'll be able to set the pricing and announce it here.  One thing that is for absolute certain, is that Secret Headquarters will have a stack of these for sale on Saturday, September 27th on a first come, first serve basis.

We generally don't like to announce releases until we know what they will cost and when they will be available....but since ya'll like getting info on new releases in advance, we figured we'd give an Upcoming Releases section a try on our webstore.  It's got the next 3 vinyl titles we'll be putting out listed...Melvins 4xLP, Pelican/TAAS 10", Helms Alee 7".  Word.

MUCH love to all you for passing on info about those ebay and amazon usernames...good lookin' out...the info is helping us to reconsider how we release vinyl, AND who we work with when it comes to shit like this.
