- Old Man Gloom is a supergroup (containing members of Converge, ISIS, Cave In, Zozobra,Doomriders, Mamiffer, etc.), but instead of making shitty records like other "supergroups", Old Man Gloom actually makes great ones.
- NO is an undeniably great title for an album, and also serves as an ironclad manifesto in opposition to the moral and aesthetic decay of our global society.
- This is Old Man Gloom's fifth album, their first after eight years. They weren't on hiatus, just busy writing the greatest album in music history. That makes them the proud progenitors of the f̶i̶v̶e̶ seven greatest albums of all time, NO being number one. NO is like "one", only spelled backwards and without the "E".
- Old Man Gloom are playing shows just in time for the collapse of the global economy.
- The acronym for Old Man Gloom is "OMG". "OMG" has become a household phrase since its introduction in to the popular lexicon in 1999, directly coinciding with the formation of Old Man Gloomthe year prior. The group has never been properly credited for this massively important contribution to global culture.
- NO was made using acoustic and electric instruments including but not limited to: sheet metal, toilets, human voices, guitars, drums, tambourines, shoes, hands, various other percussive tools, analog and digital electronic devices, and brains.
We are very happy to announce that we'll be handling the worldwide vinyl release of ENDON's immaculate masterpiece MAMA, originally released by Japan's Daymare Recordings. Set for release in Oct 2015, more details and preview tracks to follow.
Grindcore. Black metal. Harsh noise. Many fans of these genres tend to gravitate towards them because they push the boundaries of sound, testing our limits of how sonically extreme it is possible to go. And ENDON is fighting to lead the offensive.
Self-described “Catastrophic Noise Metal,” the Japanese quintet have harnessed the most severe aspects of the aforementioned genres to create something that is both wildly ambitious and viciously disturbing. Combining blast beats, tremolo riffing, destructive feedback and fascinating structures, the six songs contained on MAMA have all clearly come from the same warped id, yet are fulfilling and corrupted in singular ways.
Produced by Atsuo from experimental veterans Boris, MAMA is an album that looks for no easy exits. In roughly 40 minutes it swerves from cinematic atmospherics to the din of electronic havoc to near indecipherable bursts of chaos, all while vocalist Taichi Nagura howls, shrieks, growls and wails as if he's both the torturer and the victim.
But despite how challenging and anti-musical the band can be, there are occasional passages of beauty that showcase their careful, nuanced approach to songwriting, even if it is adorned with such great disgust and violence.
MAMA is ENDON's aural crusade for destruction at any cost. Be prepared and get ready to defend yourself.

Meditations in B. A simpler time. Like Pepperidge Farms, and Little House on the Prairie. Two beautiful young men (Aaron Turner and Santos Montano) set off on their own, in the peak of their sexual virility, to forge a new path in brutally sludgy, crushing, apocalyptic, post-metal, post-hardcore, pre-Y2K, post-math, pre-friendster, post-rock riffs. It was a magical time, before they added a few "session players." Still regarded by some (mostly the guys who played on it) as Old Man Gloom's finest hour.
Fun fact: Meditations in B was written in one afternoon, then recorded AND mixed in 12 hours! While many things in this text are only kinda true, that is absolutely true. They also had the privilege of recording it in their home town of Santa Fe, New Mexico at Stepbridge Studios. Within months of this, they used this monumental piece of music to convince Nate Newton (Converge) to join, and once they had him, it was a little easier to convince Caleb Scofield (Cave In) to join. It's kinda like the beginning of Bill and Ted, where the talk about getting Eddie Van Halen to join, but won't be good until he joins, but can't get good ‘til he joins, to convince him to join. Get it? Fantastic.

Looking through Cave In’s expansive career, between their two
most towering achievements sits the Creative Eclipses EP where
you can see everything change.
It’s been 20 years since the Boston quartet sliced canyons through
multiple scenes, starting as a corrosive hardcore band before
releasing some of the most unorthodox and exhilarating songs in
extreme music on Until Your Heart Stops. And before the aftershocks
could die down, Cave In evolved more radically than
anyone could have predicted.
While members have forged divergent paths with Old Man
Gloom, Mutoid Man, Clouds and Zozobra in the years since,
Creative Eclipses was the first signal that a band already
celebrated for their innovation could effortlessly push beyond
anything they’d tried before.
Before Jupiter could transform Cave In into rock saviors, there
were these five tracks. Opener “Luminance” is an ascendent,
shimmering hymn that bruises the troposphere. The cover of
Failure’s “Magnified,” is taken over with such fervor it feels like
something the band hatched themselves, and the acoustic “Burning
Down the Billboards” is both a revolutionary and apocalyptic
anthem. The two “Sonatas,” both ambient tracks, can wholly stand
on their own as fascinating immersions into noise.
Creative Eclipses is much more than a bridge between the two
worlds Cave In has inhabited; it’s a captivating example of the
sonic rewards that follow the band every time they’ve chosen to
obliterate expectations.

After making their auspicious but notoriously underexposed debut with 1994’s 'My Love Is Higher Than Your Assessment Of What My Love Could Be,' Athens (GA) dirge lords Harvey Milk recorded two more full-lengths (1995’s 'Courtesy And Good Will Towards Men' and 1997’s 'The Pleaser') before going tits up in 1998 in a fit of nuptials and child-rearing.
Reintroduced to the underground at large through reissues, live DVDs and whatnot, Harvey Milk reformed to unleash 'Special Wishes' upon the feverishly lactating public, which has been lactating feverishly ever since. Which is to say that Harvey Milk — as they themselves like to say—have “not” been “canceled due to lack of interest yet.”
Fast forward to the here and, like, now, and Harvey Milk are celebrating their own renaissance by lauding the virtues of 'Life... The Best Game In Town.' Spearheaded by the alternately burly and angelic vocal stylings of mastermind Creston Spiers, 'Life... The Best Game In Town' is both tumultuous and grueling, resonating with the glorious slow-motion radiance of Total Dirge Power. In layman’s terms: Yet another classic. Oh, and did we mention that they’ve been joined by Thrones legend Joe Preston? Well, they totally have.
Hydra Head Director Andrew Cox helmed this music video for the merry pranksters in Old Man Gloom. Desert simian immolation for your viewing pleasure.

What truly inspired an hour-plus collaboration between two of the most respected names in extreme experimentation? The album itself contains a statement that says it all:
“A story like this deserves to be born.”
Japanese doom radicals Boris have spent more than two decades releasing wildly diverse music that’s mesmerized audiences clamoring for sludge, rock or unbridled pop. Their impressive and extensive release history, though, pales in comparison to Merzbow aka Masami Akita. The noise paragon has almost 400 releases to his name, and over the course of 35 ear-tattered years he’s influenced multiple generations of artists and musicians.
After these two forces first came together in 2002 for the landmark Megatone album, they spent years perfecting a worthy follow-up. And in 2005, Sun Baked Snow Cave was the overwhelming culmination. Considering that these two forces are capable of eradicating most any listener, the album at first seems like a striking illustration of restraint and reflection. But the lonesome, mournful void of a strummed acoustic guitar is soon enough smothered by drones and swarms of feedback that intertwine with pulsating, yowling electronics – two worlds that both harmonize and struggle against each other. The sound of visionaries trying to draw blood.
