Unless you've been living under a rock that's underneath another even bigger rock in a cave in the middle of nowhere, you probably already know what's up with this milestone of an album. In fact, these dudes nailed it so hard that the bands that came afterward had to start calling themselves "metalcore" out of respect.

Daughters' s/t is the kind of record you can't stop turning up. The kind that satisfies every cultural, musical requisite a critical listener possesses while simultaneously reinventing the wheel. The kind that's so immediately gratifying that you don't even bother to compare your instincts with what today's internet has to say. The kind you won't have to remove from your record player for months on end.
Everyday I Get Closer to the Light From Which I Came
Beginning with 'Homesick', with its guitar hooks, shoegaze textures and familiar jesusound, one can be misled into considering that this new album will follow a familiarjesu trajectory. Instead the following tracks use jesu's aesthetic, but take in dub, post punk, and electronica along the way, to create maybe the most dynamic jesu album to date.

The time has come for Hydra Head to shut down our LA HQ. It's been a long time coming, but that doesn't make the process any less of a heart breaker. In order to ease our pain a bit, we're opening our doors to the public for the first and last time on Saturday May 25th so we celebrate our disintegration with a Hydra Head Super-Power-Yard-Sale™. James O'Mara and Aaron Turner will be on hand to help serve you, and if you're nice, give you treats (sadly Sugar Bear aka Andrew Cox will be spending his last official paycheck in Mexico and won't be able to join us). We'll have tables set up with goodies in the office for your perusal, and snacks and refreshments available at random intervals. There will be some give away surprises to random customers and a free test pressing for the first five arrivals.
Some of what we'll have on had that day will include (but is not limited to) the following: $1 CDs, $5 t-shirts, office furniture (anyone need a desk? - we'll be giving away some of our office stuff as well), discounted copies of recent vinyl titles, Hydra Head Super-Rarities™ (original pressings of Cave In "Beyond Hypothermia" LP, Converge/Agoraphobic Nosebleed LP, Discordance Axis "Inalienable Dreamless" LP, Cave In "Jupiter" LP, Botch "We Are the Romans" 2xLP, Neurosis "Sovereign" LP, Pelican "The Fire in Our Throats..." 2xLP, etc), AND some other related treasures (ISIS test pressings and box sets, screen printed tour posters, random black metal t-shirts, and whatever other gems we can dig up). Our aim is to get rid of as much as is possible in our office, so if you see something you like hanging on a wall or sitting on a desk make us an offer and see what happens!
Here are the specifics:

BOTCH - American Nervoso 2xLP and CAVE IN - Until Your Heart Stops 2xLP are now available in the Hydra Head Shop, plus new shirt and hoodie designs for both, and a limited edition windbreaker for Botch!
BOTCH
American Nervoso
Expanded to a 2xLP to include bonus tracks on vinyl for the first time. Remastered for vinyl by James Plotkin. Available on black, Fuchsia (purple?), or Steam (HHR exclusive) vinyl. Army Green Vinyl (Record Store Day exclusive) was available in stores only.
Originally recorded in 1998, this is Botch's debut full-length and first Hydra Head release. It features white-hot guitar action, scathing vocals, sweet bass moves, and torrential drums. Smashing existing precepts of hardcore and redefining both the word and the music for a generation of matinee kids and grizzled vets alike.

CAVE IN
Until Your Heart Stops
Half of the pressing is housed in jackets from the original run that we've stored for years, the other half in new jackets from reconstructed art. Remastered for vinyl by James Plotkin. Availbable on black or white (HHR Exclusive) vinyl. Translucent Orange/Black Swirl vinyl (Record Store Day exclusive) was in stores only.
Cave In have had many musical identities since their inception in Methuen, MA, in 1995, but the one that first established them as underground heroes was the dizzying, face-ripping metal blowout now known the world over as Until Your Heart Stops. -J. Bennett / Decibel Magazine

Hey gang,
So maybe the person in front of you in line this morning snagged the last Botch - An Anthology of Dead Ends 12" at your local record store, or maybe you live too far away from any of the swell shops that were selling the Circle - Manner LP, or you only got two out of the three colors of the Pelican - Australasia 2xLP. Well, fret not because now you have the opportunity to order them from the comfort of the slow computer you share with everyone in your house. We have limited quantities of all three Record Store Day releases in every vinyl color available, so click them links before it's too late.
And don't forget to grab this Circle t-shirt. IT IS A GLOW-IN-THE-DARK SKULL.

Hi. How are you?
Have you heard of Record Store Day?
It's one of those events that makes pretty much anyone remotely interested in making, selling or buying vinyl records go just totally and completely bananas. We may not have gone totally bananas...just yet anyway;)...but we do come close around this time of year, particularly with our very own Los Angeles based vinyl record store, Vacation Vinyl. Vacation will be loaded with the Hydra Head titles we're about to run through in this here 'eblast', but will also be well stocked on just about everything you are dying to find on Record Store Day's official list.
Hydra Head Records has three titles coming out on Record Store Day this year. There will be no webstore pre-orders for these, so please go old-school and ask your local store to order them (and several each of our catalog titles as well, if you don't mind), then go snag them in person at the crack 'o dawn on April 21st.
We will also be sending out free posters, signed prints, pins and patches to select stores as well...but more on that as Record Store Day approaches.
An Anthology of Dead Ends 12"
The final will and testament of Seattle's best boy band ever, released just in time for the 10th anniversary of their final show. A collection so vital its grown 2 inches in 10 years.
180g vinyl on multiple colors. Full color old-school style tip-on single LP jacket, with heavyweight full color innersleeve.
Manner LP
Finland's indomitable Circle return with a dilating dose of NWOFHM/Avant-AOR. Limited vinyl album. 6 songs. 40 minutes. Their first on Hydra Head.
Housed in a classic full color die-cut DJ sleeve, the cover image of the eye is not fully realized until the record is inserted into the jacket with the LP label completing the iris. The vinyl colors equally match the aesthetic; we would tell you what they are, but we don't want to ruin the surprise.
Australasia 2xLP
The instru-metal rock masterpiece that came to define a genre. Often imitated, never duplicated. Deluxe vinyl edition available for the first time on Hydra Head since the album's 2003 release.
180g double vinyl on multiple colors. Full color tip-on gatefold with full color innersleeve. This thing is so heavy you could probably hammer nails with it.
Hint: track down the 'haze' vinyl color...we like.
Holy Moly! Botch - 'We Are the Romans' 2xLP sold out in the Hydra Head Shop in less than 20 minutes.
To those who were unable to secure a copy this morning, there will be limited numbers going to local record stores, so get in touch and be extra nice. VACATION VINYL will definitely have some copies.
The pressing was limited by the number of jackets we had (We don't currently have art files to print them, as they are 11 years old at this point and probably were in Quark on a PC that has been non-operational since Aaron smashed it. We are working on it though).
The overwhelming demand confirms that BOTCH represses are a priority for 2012.

Unless you’ve been living under a rock that’s underneath another even bigger rock in a
cave in the middle of nowhere, you probably already know what’s up with this
milestone/motherfucker of an album. Initially released in the year two grand, Botch’s final
full-length was/is the kind of devastating metallic hardcore explosion that the term “metallic
hardcore” could/can only aspire to. In fact, these dudes nailed it so hard that the bands
that came afterward had to start calling themselves “metalcore” out of respect. And today,
it’s actually even worse: Ever since Botch went belly up back in 2002, there’s been a steady,
obnoxious stream of MTV2-jocking carpetbaggers that have ripped off our Sea-Tac boys
(currently and formerly members of esteemed rock outfits like Minus The Bear, These Arms
Are Snakes, Roy, Narrows and Russian Circles) riff for riff. We’d name names, but why
mess around with pretenders to the throne when you’re already in bed with the kings? Its
on 180g double vinyl for the first time since the album's initial release in y2k, and now also
includes the totally sweet double-compact disc edition from 2007 featuring the original
recording remastered plus bonus live tracks and the entire album in its hi-fidelity demo
version. We Are The Romans is bigger, better, and more Roman than ever.
“Selling Points”:
- This is it, the big one! Overstatement or hyperbole isn’t possible when describing how
critical this full length was to the progress of metallic hardcore. Along with pretty much
every band we have worked with in the past 10 years (you know what we are talking about...
Cave In, Converge, Coalesce, Knut), Botch took hardcore to unexplored realms.
- Presented here in its original 2xLP packaging and pressed from the original vinyl plates,
this repressing includes the 2007 remastered deluxe edition 2xCD as an added bonus. CD 1
features the remastered original record, while CD 2 contains several live tracks and nearly
every track from Romans in their never-before-heard live-in-the-studio demo-form. The
point we are trying to make is this thing is freakin’ awesome...
“Choice” Press Quotes:
“Some of the most impressive heavy music from the past 10 years.... no one has come close
to topping their dedication, adventurousness or personality. Botch were dead serious about
one thing: fucking ruling.” - DECIBEL
“One of the most revered hardcore bands of the last decade, Botch pioneered the
mathmetal school of rock with song structures so complex and musicianship so virtuosic
the Seattle quartet might as well have played classical music.” - REVOLVER
“If you’re a fan of metal, hardcore or any of either category’s attendant subgenres and still
aren’t worshiping the ground Botch stomped on, we don’t have any hope for you.”
- ALTERNATIVE PRESS
