Lustmord will make his second live appearance in 29 years at Unsound Festival 2010 in Krakow, Poland. The show will take place on October 22 in Kino Kijow, a cinema and landmark piece of 60s communist-era architecture in Krakow. Another show is scheduled for Berlin, Germany on October 27 2010, at Berghain, presented by Club Transmediale in conjunction with Unsound.

Pitchfork: Your name, "Lustmord," aka "lust murder," makes me think of Peter Sotos, and then Whitehouse. That's what led me to ask about texts. Are you at all interested in authors like Sotos... or Marquis de Sade?

L: Hell no. I read The 120 Days of Sodom from beginning to end when I was a teenager, which was pretty masochistic of me come to think of it, as it bored me to tears. And I appreciate the irony. I've only read a little Sotos early on and found it to be pretentious nonsense."

Lustmord's discography is Ken Burns material in the making... His musical career runs 30 years deep...[which is a way of saying no one from Hydra Head other than Mark and Aaron were even alive when Lustmord started bro-ing down and making music with trailblazers like SPK and Throbbing Gristle]...and is packed tight with projects so varied that Nike and Nurse With Wound both reside on his discography. We’ve been doing this label for 10+ years now, and even then, we feel like snot nose kids next to what he's accomplished. Not to mention that King Buzzo is the one who sent him our way...its like a double shot of 'don't fuck this up' we gotta deal with here..

Lustmord's first new body of work in many years features his patented creep out techniques carefully crafted into a full length he's titled “Other”. Guest shots come by way of Buzz from the Melvins, Adam Jones from Tool and Aaron Turner from Unionsuit. The digital version is out and available now via Itunes and other DSP. The digipack version hits streets worldwide on July 22nd.

hydra head has "signed" the legendary lustmord. if you don't know who lustmord is, it's time to do some research.... lustmord has only existed for 25 years! after countless releases and recent collaborations and remixes with the melvins and tool, lustmord has decided to put his reputation at stake by forming an unholy alliance with hydra head conglomerate international.


the first release will be a limited CD containing a lengthy track made in conjunction with buzz osborne of melvins fame - fans of drone and dirge rejoice. hydra head will also be distributing another forthcoming lustmord release - another limited cd featuring material from a recent lustmord live show - the first in 20 years... which happened to be a performance for a public ritual for the church of satan held on, you guessed it 6/6/06.
