Aside being on tour with massive acts like ISIS and Dälek, Mamiffer is currently half-way through the recording of a new full-length album. The record is being engineered by Randall Dunn (Earth, Sunn 0))), Kayo Dot, Wolves in the Throne Room, etc...) and the completion of the entire process is tentatively scheduled for January 2010. The following individuals will be featured on the new recordings: Faith Coloccia (Everlovely Lightningheart), Aaron Turner (ISIS, GREYMACHINE, Jodis, etc..), Travis Rommereim, Don McGreevy (Earth), Ted Parsons (Swans), Sera Timms (Black math Horseman), Brian Cook (These Arms Are Snakes, The Russian Circles, Botch) , Joe Preston (Thrones, Sunn 0)), Harvey Milk etc...) and Avin Kang (Solo artist w/ has contributed to the recordings of Sunn0))), Mike Patton etc).

Also, Mamiffer's previous full-length, "Hirror Enniffer," is being manufactured on vinyl (by SIGE records) specifically for this tour. The LP version possesses alternative artwork and is limited to 300. Ten perfectly good opportunities to pick up a copy of your own are listed below. Happy hunting!

Oops, we did it again...we just can't stop...really, its becoming a problem. This SXSW thing is a real bitch, but we just can't say no...but check it, we managed to pretty much KILL it on our line up. Again. This is Vol. 4, for those counting, and as you've come to expect from your friendly neighborhood Hydra Head, the line up represents precisely why 2008 has turned out to be a motherfucker of year for us...

Limited edition silkscreen prints of this years official poster will be available at the shows. The poster marks the first collaborative work between our very own Ron Bradford and newest best friend Tom Neely. Prints courtesy of Wez at Burlesque.

Shout out to Heatseeker, OMG and Boris who were all scheduled at one point and then couldn't make it for various reasons...ya'll are ALWAYS welcome...but you know that already.

Shout out to Craig from SXSW who's got to have the most stressful job we can imagine. Your patience and assistance is mucho appreciated.

Shout out to Jared Cannon and Red 7 for hosting us for the first time. Jared's an old family member, so we're happy to be working with him and his new club.

Ex-ter-mi-nate! On the heels of their latest full-length, Abandoned Language, MC Dälek and beat-master Oktopus unfurl a collection of dream-like instrumentals, ten-ton remixes (including Enon’s unforgettable “In This City”) and scarce gems from the last seven years. Deadverse Massive Volume 1 is no odds n’ sods collection, but rather an addendum to a body of work that already rests comfortably atop underground hip-hop’s proverbial heap. Over the ominous grind of metallic friction and industrial-strength beats, MC Dälek flows like silk on glass, foregoing all the usual hip-hop lyrical conventions for something darker, more textural, and infinitely memorable. Did we mention that this is Hydra Head’s first hip-hop release? Well, it is. Then again, our man Oktopus has already appeared twice in the Hydra Head Remix series, reinterpreting the work of both Isis and Knut with exceptional results. So when you think about it, these dudes were pretty much part of the family all along.

Track Listing:
  1. Megaton (Deadverse Remix)
  2. Angst
  3. Ruin It, Ruin Them, Ruin Yourself, Then Ruin Me (Deadverse Remix)
  4. Vague Recollection
  5. Desolate Peasants
  6. Rouge (Deadverse Remix)
  7. 3:46
  8. In This City (Deadverse Remix)
  9. Music for ASM
  10. Streets All Amped
  11. Ascention
  12. Maintain
  13. Back to Burn

Out July 24th

With a slew of critic-praised albums under their belts (including their most recent full length for Ipecac, Abandoned Language), MC Dälek and beat-master Oktopus are prime runners in keeping hip hop vitalized, hungry, and forward thinking. Deadverse Massive Volume 1 is an outstanding compilation of rare tracks, engaging instrumentals, and remixes — a body of work that embodies an atmosphere, lyrical flow, and vision all their own.
