- Old Man Gloom is a supergroup (containing members of Converge, ISIS, Cave In, Zozobra,Doomriders, Mamiffer, etc.), but instead of making shitty records like other "supergroups", Old Man Gloom actually makes great ones.
- NO is an undeniably great title for an album, and also serves as an ironclad manifesto in opposition to the moral and aesthetic decay of our global society.
- This is Old Man Gloom's fifth album, their first after eight years. They weren't on hiatus, just busy writing the greatest album in music history. That makes them the proud progenitors of the f̶i̶v̶e̶ seven greatest albums of all time, NO being number one. NO is like "one", only spelled backwards and without the "E".
- Old Man Gloom are playing shows just in time for the collapse of the global economy.
- The acronym for Old Man Gloom is "OMG". "OMG" has become a household phrase since its introduction in to the popular lexicon in 1999, directly coinciding with the formation of Old Man Gloomthe year prior. The group has never been properly credited for this massively important contribution to global culture.
- NO was made using acoustic and electric instruments including but not limited to: sheet metal, toilets, human voices, guitars, drums, tambourines, shoes, hands, various other percussive tools, analog and digital electronic devices, and brains.

After making their auspicious but notoriously underexposed debut with 1994’s 'My Love Is Higher Than Your Assessment Of What My Love Could Be,' Athens (GA) dirge lords Harvey Milk recorded two more full-lengths (1995’s 'Courtesy And Good Will Towards Men' and 1997’s 'The Pleaser') before going tits up in 1998 in a fit of nuptials and child-rearing.
Reintroduced to the underground at large through reissues, live DVDs and whatnot, Harvey Milk reformed to unleash 'Special Wishes' upon the feverishly lactating public, which has been lactating feverishly ever since. Which is to say that Harvey Milk — as they themselves like to say—have “not” been “canceled due to lack of interest yet.”
Fast forward to the here and, like, now, and Harvey Milk are celebrating their own renaissance by lauding the virtues of 'Life... The Best Game In Town.' Spearheaded by the alternately burly and angelic vocal stylings of mastermind Creston Spiers, 'Life... The Best Game In Town' is both tumultuous and grueling, resonating with the glorious slow-motion radiance of Total Dirge Power. In layman’s terms: Yet another classic. Oh, and did we mention that they’ve been joined by Thrones legend Joe Preston? Well, they totally have.
The first pressing sold out so quickly that we turned around another vinyl color, Clear/Blue splatter limited to 500.

What truly inspired an hour-plus collaboration between two of the most respected names in extreme experimentation? The album itself contains a statement that says it all:
“A story like this deserves to be born.”
Japanese doom radicals Boris have spent more than two decades releasing wildly diverse music that’s mesmerized audiences clamoring for sludge, rock or unbridled pop. Their impressive and extensive release history, though, pales in comparison to Merzbow aka Masami Akita. The noise paragon has almost 400 releases to his name, and over the course of 35 ear-tattered years he’s influenced multiple generations of artists and musicians.
After these two forces first came together in 2002 for the landmark Megatone album, they spent years perfecting a worthy follow-up. And in 2005, Sun Baked Snow Cave was the overwhelming culmination. Considering that these two forces are capable of eradicating most any listener, the album at first seems like a striking illustration of restraint and reflection. But the lonesome, mournful void of a strummed acoustic guitar is soon enough smothered by drones and swarms of feedback that intertwine with pulsating, yowling electronics – two worlds that both harmonize and struggle against each other. The sound of visionaries trying to draw blood.

GRØND, chapter two in a trilogy, is an album wholly developed through a process of withering abstraction. The instrumentation renders a forceful merging of massive celestial bodies, each a whirling cacophony of inter-dimensional conjuring. After digesting the lyrics in accordance, what used to sound like the swinging of a pendulum, rather depicts a birth of an unknowable origin... a spectral and magnetic void. Nihill, an outfit firmly entrenched in the European underground, travels freely from one metal sub-genre to the next, effectively dispensing with the notion of a genre specific work all together.
The reflexive nature with which Nihill makes these connections puts them beyond the boundaries of simple categorization. GRØND is at once: black metal, drone, doom, noise, and even hints at martial industrialism; arriving at something resembling mechanistic dark ambient as much as traditional black metal. If this unique work need suffer comparison for the sake of cognition, Nihill's nearest contemporaries are the likes of Blut Aus Nord, Deathspell Omega and the more obtuse of America's own Leviathan.
Moreover, rather than confining the moods and ideas therein to the nullifying constructs of a conventional metal record, GRØND offers the listener the opportunity to perceive things beyond physicality, an experience closer to metaphysical awakening than base entertainment. Into the void indeed....

"I wanted to eclipse what NAPALM DEATH had done for me at that point. Not to make From Enslavement to Obliteration, but to make the record they would have made after. That was Ulterior for me."
Jon Chang doesn't set small goals. From day one, he was determined to make DISCORDANCE AXIS more than another pack of weekend warrior grinders content with emulating their favorite records. He understood the songwriting and performing prowess lurking in collaborators drummer Dave Witte and Rob Marton and he brought it out by every dictatorial means necessary.
The result was 1995's Ulterior, DISCORDANCE AXIS' first full length album. It was an album that maybe owed too obvious a debt to their influences, particularly the NAPALM DEATH records Chang was determined to top, but Ulterior hinted at the musical and lyrical themes that DISCORDANCE AXIS would perfect on their subsequent two albums, Jouhou and apotheosis The Inalienable Dreamless.
DISCORDANCE AXIS were finding their footing with Ulterior, repurposing grindcore's tropes and updating its lexicon to fit the 21st Century. Band visionary Chang jolted grindcore's stale infatuation with the politics of opposition with his fascination for science fiction and manga. DISCORDANCE AXIS would also make Witte's bones as the most in-demand drummer of the last two decades as he blasted and thrashed his way into fastest man alive contention. But the secret weapon in DISCORDANCE AXIS' arsenal has always been Marton. Unlike his more gregarious bandmates, Marton just quietly went about his business of redefining grindcore guitar playing. Rather than speeding up '80s hardcore, Marton wrote riffs that actually stood up on their own. His technically adept performance owes as much to jazz and VOIVOD as it does Scum and Horrified. DISCORDANCE AXIS distinguished themselves from the grindcore pack by having actual songs. Ulterior hinted at his prodigious talent, but Marton would stake his case for grind guitar godhood on the strength of Jouhou and The Inalienable Dreamless.

Pelican's second full length album The Fire In Our Throats Will Beckon The Thaw , is finally back in press on 180 gram double LP.
With their 2005 epic, Pelican brought on new levels of complexity to their already distinctive auditory stamp. Acoustic guitars take their place beside the group's traditional power-droning and awe-inspiring instrumental anthems. Whether this signaled the end of the underground musical landscape as we knew it, or the beginning of a new one is anyone's guess. Luckily, it rules either way.
- Vinyl is housed in a Stoughton old-school style heavyweight gatefold jacket printed on reflective metallic stock. Available on 180 gram black, orange, black/blue splatter, and white/blue splatter vinyl. Each disc has full color labels and a heavyweight full color inner-sleeve.

Unless you've been living under a rock that's underneath another even bigger rock in a cave in the middle of nowhere, you probably already know what's up with this milestone of an album. Initially released in the year two grand, Botch's final full-length was/is the kind of devastating metallic hardcore explosion that the term "metallic hardcore" could/can only aspire to. In fact, these dudes nailed it so hard that the bands that came afterward had to start calling themselves "metalcore" out of respect.

Beginning with 'Homesick', with its guitar hooks, shoegaze textures and familiar jesusound, one can be misled into considering that this new album will follow a familiarjesu trajectory. Instead the following tracks use jesu's aesthetic, but take in dub, post punk, and electronica along the way, to create maybe the most dynamic jesu album to date.
